<p>Many think that trimming down on calories can alone shed off their surplus weight. This certainly can be helpful but what people don&#8217;t know is that this could be risky because when you decrease your calorie intake below the required levels, the body begins to digest the fats. That&#8217;s what you want to do right?  The risky part is when that happens your body actually goes into a starvation mode resulting in reduced metabolism which can cause fatigue, illness and a weakness in the immune system.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our topic today fits in the uncomfortable but necessary catagory. People throughout the world suffer from what is classified as irritable bowel syndrome. It  affects young and old alike and is not restricted to gender.</p>
<p>Many thousands of hours are lost in the working world due to  absence or when a person comes in to work, from being less productive simply  because they don’t feel well. The good news is that irritable bowel syndrome is treatable and doesn’t have to be non productive.</p>
<p>The causes of irritable bowel syndrome are many, but the most common,  according to many experts, is a build up of fecal matter and the resulting gas  and bacteria that comes from it in the colon. The bacteria grows rapidly and  spreads toxins throughout the body. The body reacts in a multitude of ways. This  can be manifested in constipation, diarrhea, headache, water retention, or  abdominal pain and cramping. No one likes having irritable bowel syndrome. It is  painful, uncomfortable and inconvenient.</p>
<p>Controlling or getting rid of irritable bowel syndrome can be done in many  cases through cleansing of the colon. The simple fact is a clean colon is a healthy colon. Many people cleanse their colons through changing their eating  habits. They turn to healthier foods such as big green leafy vegetables, fruits,  salads, and whole grains for breads and pastas. <p>Address the problem by getting our children more involved, more active, and better educated about making the proper choices about diet, nutrition, fitness, and overall health. The problem for most parents is getting our teens off the computer, phone, or away from the television long enough to get active. Here are some simple tips that may activate your overweight teen.</p>
<p>The majority of us learn by example and whether we care to admit it or not. Teens typically enjoy doing things as part of the family. A softball game, soccer game, and even volleyball can be a great way for the family to do something together and the games and practices are opportunities for your teen to be active. Be sure to make it fun and not a chore. You might try bike riding or go hiking as a family. Learn a new sport together. It’s amazing how much fun you can have in doing so.</p>
<p>Encourage your teen to join a recreational sports team either at school or in the community. In most communities there are many sports programs available in which teens can join. Most importantly, support and encourage them in any physical activity. Even if the sport they take up doesn’t involve a lot of physical activity it is quite likely more active than sitting in front of the television or computer screen.</p>
<p>Make it easy for your teen to eat healthier foods. Limit their exposure to calorie-loaded foods, fruit juices, and energy drinks, and encourage them to drink plenty of water each day. Introduce as many vegetables as possible to the diet of your teens and get rid of the prepackaged convenience goodies that teens are notorious for depleting in one sitting. Also having them to actively participate in the preparation and clean up for meals. This will help them pay more attention to the things they put into their mouths as well as the messes they make in the process.</p>

I could walk, but it would take me a lot longer to burn the same calories.&#8221; She goes on to say, &#8220;You can&#8217;t beat that type of exercise. It&#8217;s free. It&#8217;s fast. You put your shoes on, you warm up, you stretch and you go.&#8221;</p>
<p>Along with her husband Paul, the Kreidlers have lost a combined total of 160 pounds since January 2008. The Missouri couple have attributed their weight loss success mainly to running.</p>
<p>The time spent running doesn’t take a huge amount of time either. Amy calculates she only spends 4% of her waking hours on it during the week. &#8220;I watch TV more than that. I&#8217;m on the computer more than that.&#8221;</p>
<p>Their stories were selected by a panel of experts to be featured in the sixth annual USA TODAY weight-loss challenge in the newspaper and at dietchallenge.usatoday.com. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The fact is that most people’s long-term weight loss plans are more ambitious than they have to be.  Let me explain, assume you are middle age and your goal is to fit into your high school prom dress.  Let’s face facts; it’s not going to happen.</p>
<p>That’s not to say that your situation is hopeless.  On the contrary with proper planning you can achieve success in your weight loss quest.  You have a better chance of attaining your goals if you make sure that the weight loss plans that you will use are sensible and reasonable right at the beginning.</p>
<p>Here are some guidelines from the experts in choosing weight loss plans and goals.</p>
<p>1. Be realistic<br />
You will need a sensible weight loss plan that will correspond to your height, body type and age.  These are the primary factors that should affect your goals.</p>
<p>Pursuing a practical weight loss plan just for vanity’s sake is psychologically less productive than losing weight to improve your health.</p>
<p>2. Focus on fitness, not losing weight<br />
Rather than focusing on how much you can lose this week, focus on how much you are going to exercise this week. This would definitely have the make up of a practical weight loss plan.  If you improve your physical condition you will have a better attitude to deal with your weight control.</p>
<p>Keep in mind that your weight within a span of a week is not completely in your control, but your behavior is.</p>

<p>5. Use measurable standards<br />
In addition to knowing how much weight you have lost you should also be able to count up the minutes of exercise in order to be successful in your plan.<br />
Focusing on what you have not achieved is not a goal that you can measure and should not be a part of your weight loss plan.</p>
<p>You have made a big step forward if you decide to undergo a practical weight loss plan that includes exercise and eating right so that you will feel better and have more energy to do something positive in your life.  Something like being able to breathe while tying your shoes.</p>
<p>The bottom line is, weight loss plans should be what it is, just a plan. You have to put it into action by incorporating goals that will motivate you to succeed.</p>
